Questions

Good to know before you book.

How many private tours does Swingo run, and where do they start?

Swingo runs 11 private tours: 10 depart from Lisbon and 1 from Porto. Every tour is 100 percent private, with hotel, Airbnb or cruise-port pickup included. Departure cities are filtered at the top of this page. Airport transfers and hourly private-driver hire are separate services, listed in the Transfers and Private Driver menus.

How much does a private tour in Portugal cost?

Prices on this page are the total for the whole group, not per person, starting at 1 traveller. The entry price is 230 EUR for Lisbon and 240 EUR for Sintra, both half-day. Full-day tours start at 313 EUR for Fatima. The price per traveller falls sharply as the group grows, because the vehicle and guide are shared.

Which private tour should I pick for a first visit to Lisbon?

For a first visit, Sintra is the most booked day trip, with Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira on timed tickets. If you have only one day in the capital itself, take the Lisbon tour, which covers Belem with pre-booked entry to Jeronimos Monastery. Both run as half-day or full-day.

Are the prices shown here per person or for the whole group?

For the whole group. Every price on this page is the total a private vehicle and guide cost at 1 traveller, and it does not multiply by the number of travellers. Group sizes run to 15 people. When you open a tour page you can see the exact total for your own group size before you book.

Can I book online, or do I have to enquire first?

You can book online. Every tour listed on this page has instant confirmation and a booking button, with card payment secured by Stripe. Nothing on this page is sold on request. If you would rather build a tour that is not listed, the Build your tour button opens a WhatsApp conversation with the team.

What is included in the price of a private tour?

Every tour includes a licensed local driver-guide, a private vehicle with fuel and tolls, and hotel or cruise-port pickup and drop-off. Monument tickets are included where the tour name says so, and are listed rate by rate on each tour page. Lunch and personal expenses are not included.

What is your cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before your tour starts, with a full refund and no fee. Inside 24 hours the booking is non-refundable. If we cancel because of weather, a boat operator or a monument closure, you get a full refund or a new date, whichever you prefer.

Are your vehicles electric, and can you take a wheelchair or a stroller?

70 percent of the Swingo fleet is electric. Vehicles carry up to 3 travellers in a sedan and up to 8 in a van, with larger groups split across two vehicles. Strollers and folding wheelchairs travel in the boot. Infant and child seats are free on request when you book.

How far in advance should I book a private tour?

Book at least 2 weeks ahead between May and October, and earlier for tours with capped entry. Pena Palace, the Joanina Library in Coimbra and the Berlengas island permit all sell out in high season, and the ticket has to be bought before your date to guarantee the timed slot.

Can I change the itinerary of a private tour?

Yes. Every itinerary on this page is a suggestion, not a fixed route, and your guide adjusts the order and the pace on the day. Swaps that change an included ticket or add a long drive are better agreed before you book, so the timed entries can be moved to match.

Planning a day trip? Read our guides. Not a tour? See airport transfers from Lisbon, from Porto, or hire a private driver by the hour.
