Are all Swingo tours private?
Yes. Every Swingo tour is private, so the vehicle, the guide and the pace belong to your group alone and nobody else joins. Groups run from one to fifteen travellers, and the suggested itinerary is adjusted on the day to match how fast or slow you want to move.
How much does a private tour in Portugal cost?
Prices are per group, not per person. A private Sintra tour starts at 240 euros for the group and a private Lisbon tour at 230 euros, both at one traveller. The price already covers the vehicle, fuel, tolls, parking, bottled water and your English speaking driver-guide for the whole day.
Is hotel pickup included?
Yes, and it costs nothing extra. We collect you at your hotel, apartment, cruise terminal, airport or private address across Lisbon, Cascais, Sintra, Porto and the surrounding areas, and we drop you back at the end. Add the address when you book and we confirm the pickup time by email.
Where does the tour start and end?
Wherever you are staying. Pickup can be a hotel, an apartment, a cruise terminal, either airport or a private address, and the tour ends at the same place unless you ask for a different drop-off. There is no meeting point to find and no transport to arrange on the day.
What is the cancellation policy?
You can cancel free of charge up to twenty four hours before the tour starts and get a full refund. Inside twenty four hours the booking is non refundable, because the guide and the vehicle are already blocked for you. Date changes are free whenever the new day still has availability.
What languages do the guides speak?
Our driver-guides speak English, Portuguese, Spanish, French and Italian, and each tour is run by one person who both drives and guides, so you deal with the same face all day. If you need another language, ask us on WhatsApp before you book and we will tell you whether we can match you.
Are the vehicles electric?
Seventy per cent of the Swingo fleet runs on electric power, which keeps a full day of driving quiet and free of exhaust. Every vehicle has air conditioning and bottled water on board and is cleaned between tours. A sedan carries up to three travellers and a van up to eight.
How many people and how much luggage fit in one tour?
A sedan takes three travellers with three hold bags, a van takes eight with eight, and a van plus a sedan takes eleven. Fifteen is the largest group we price online, and luggage can move you up a vehicle size before headcount does. Above that we quote the day individually.
Do you also do airport transfers and private drivers?
Yes. We run private transfers from Lisbon and Porto airports to the city, the coast and the wine regions, with a driver meeting you in the arrivals hall. You can also hire a private driver by the hour or by the day, from two hours to a full week, anywhere in Portugal.
Is Swingo a licensed tour operator?
Yes. Swingo is the tour brand of Avenidas Invertidas, registered with Turismo de Portugal under RNAAT number 1066/2016, and insurance is included in every booking. The company was founded in 2016 and its first tour left Lisbon on 19 September of that year.
