A fascinating neighbourhood at any time of the day, but which comes alive in the early evening when the inhabitants take to the streets and the taverns start to fill up. This is a walking tour passing by Castle S. Jorge, Igreja de Santo António and Cathedral of Lisbon.

Commissioned by King Manuel I, the tower was built from 1515 to 1521 to be a fortress in the middle of the Tagus. The starting point for the Discoveries' navigators, this Manueline jewel became the symbol of Portuguese expansion.
